Games Jobs @ Brunel University London

Brunel is looking to fill 3 positions in Games Design & Studies

2 in Games Studies and 1 in Games Design at either the Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level

The Department has just launched three new strands to its undergraduate Games Design programme (Art, Technology and Studies) and has a long-established MA. The focus of both UG and PG provision is on games for entertainment purposes with a strong, integrated theory component. It has an extremely elevated level of industry employment and engagement but also maintains a very high standard of academic achievement. The department is dedicated to games and teaches nothing else.

Because three roles are being filled at once there is some flexibility regarding the capacities of each appointee as any new staff would need to synergise with each other and the existing departmental competencies.

The primary requirement is for capable theorists with specialist knowledge in contemporary Games Studies and two of the appointees are likely to primarily fill that expectation. However, the Department also needs a broad support across a number of areas and invites applicants that have teaching experience in practical design, be that art or technology.

For all applicants, a knowledge of the processes and practicalities of experiential design would be a great advantage with experience in non-digital Game Design being highly desirable. You will have completed or be near completion of a games focussed PhD.
