Goals
The idea for forming a special group around the theme of researching player experience was born in a roundtable in Vancouver DiGRA’05, where the founding members discussed their work. Since there clearly exists a specific concern around the experience of player, including the methodologies (qualitative as well as experimental) for evaluating gameplay experience, it was decided to set up a SIG to bring together individuals working on this issue. This list exists to discuss and exchange information about research, conferences, and publications relevant to player experience.
Means
The group will collect and exchange information on player experience research and organize roundtables and other sessions on this research theme. This SIG page will be at least initially be the simple archive and contact repository. For discussion purposes, the group utilizes player-experience{at}digra.org mailing list and other DiGRA.org discussion forums. To subscribe to the mailing list use form at http://mail.digra.org/mailman/listinfo/player-experience and follow the instructions you receive. For inclusion into the SIG members’ list, contact the SIG manager.
