The Game Education Summit, Dallas June 10-11, 2008 Location: SMU

The Game Education Summit was created to assist with the collaboration between the video game industry and the various universities that have video game programs. The Game Education Summit will have two tracks so that whether your program is established or you are interested in creating a video game or interactive digital media program there is a track that is relevant.

Sessions will cover topics such as teaching methodologies, starting a game development program, core curriculum topics, research collaboration and increasing diversity. Speakers from Activision, Arizona State University, Carnegie Mellon, Electronic Arts, Blizzard Entertainment, Dell, Emergent Game Technologies, Full Sail, Gearbox Software, Indiana University, Microsoft, SONY, THQ, University of Central Florida, University of Wisconsin, and USC will ensure a lively and informative event.

This is a rare opportunity for universities to have a true conversation with the video game industry. It seems that these conversations are all too rare, and the goal is to help you not only gain information for your program, but also to help with facilitating alumni recruitment by these companies.

The IGDA Education SIG will have a session during the summit. You can find the registration information on the website http://www.gameeducationsummit.com . If you have any questions please contact, Mark Chuberka, Conference Director at (512) 241-0269 or at mark@gamepathevents.com .
