Within GATE, the Research Institute for History and Culture (OGC) of Utrecht University's Faculty of Humanities executes the research project Design rules for learning through simulated worlds.

The IT University in Copenhagen, Denmark, has announced a number of state-financed Ph.D. scholarships and applicants from all over the world are welcome to apply. We call for applications within the area of innovative communication (including internet communication and culture) and within the area of computer games research (as well as for applications within more traditional computer science areas). The International Journal of Role Playing (IJRP) is now accepting submissions for the 1st issue, due out in early 2008. Deadline for submissions is January 1st, 2008.
 
The International Journal of Role Playing invites researchers, designers, developers, academics, artists and others involved in the growing field of research related to role playing to submit articles. The IJRP is a peer-reviewed journal, and welcomes submissions from any sphere of interest, knowledge network, research field or development sector that directly or indirectly relates to role playing interests.
