Designing for Ludic Engagement has a focus on the user's interactive, play and learning experiences when engaged in the play with toys and games. The symposium will discuss concepts and characteristics of aesthetics and design in relation to the ludic engagement that underlies the desire of play and learning.

The symposium is a cross-disciplinary event and organized around presentations of empirical findings and theoretical and methodological perspectives. Additionally, interactive sessions and demos will be organized around specific products and fields of interest. This is a strategic event at which industry, professionals and researchers can present their exciting innovations and latest works. In this way the symposium will act as a forum to facilitate international cross-disciplinary collaboration in research and development in these fast emerging areas.

The symposium is held in parallel with the International Conference on Artificial Reality and Telexistence (ICAT 2007) and the International Conference ArtAbilitation 2007.
